I joined the U.S. Navy out of High School as a Radioman (1995). The Navy changed my rating's name from Radioman(RM) to Information Systems Technician (IT). I left the service as a Information Systems Technician Petty Officer First Class Surface Warfare [IT1(SW)] in 2005.
I am Currently a working as a Sr. Network Engineer for a Conferencing/Telecommunications company in Alpharetta Georgia.
I am Married with 3 children.
My non-radio hobbies involve playing music (guitar & mandolin), hiking, fishing, hunting, posting to my Blogs when I can, Social Media, Computer Gaming, and learning new things.
I am a member of ARRL (and a VE), IEEE,VFW, & DAV. I am also a long time Scouter, and am currently the Scoutmaster for Troop 55 in the Sweetwater District and North East Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
I have taught several Ham Cram and Traditional (multi-week) Technician courses. I count over a hundred Hams that I have helped get their ticket.
I have been involved in Scouting as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Assistant Scoutmaster, Pack and Troop Committer Chairs, Cub MAster, Den Leader, Merit Badge Councilor, and Scout Master off and on for about 18 years.
